Everyone knows about that thing called love at first sight.
It happened to Javiera already 18 years ago.
Thats when she fell in love - with music.
But lets begin at a large department store, on a weekend day in the early 80s.Its pay day, its crowded and hot, the lines to the cash counters are growing incessantly.
But a tender voice suddenly interrupts the noise and chatter, provoking smiles on everyones faces.
A tiny girl with dark hair and brown eyes is performing on stage, for the very first time.
Without really being aware of it.She dances and sings, doing her own show with old favourites like "Singin in the Rain" and "Raindrops keep fallin on my head".
Five years old and she wraps the audience around her little firnger
- I got applauds and small-coins afterwards.
And I could buy my own candy, she smiles happily at the memory from the show at the department store.
Her father had already back then begun training her in the noble art of singing.
When dad was in the kitchen cooking, little Javiera was there right next to him.
When dad sang, she sang along.
She had been given a gift, a voice.
A voice made to be heard.
Javieras father realized it, she herself would come to realize it later on in life.
For a certain Marilyn Monroe has a word or two to say in this story about love.
It was her whom Javiera saw there in the TV-set, in the small suburb of Hj?llbo, in the outskirts of Gothenburg.
The movie "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" was showing and curvaceous Marilyn was apparently singing something about diamonds being a girls best friend.
And suddenly everything fell into place, it really was love at first sight for little Javiera.
From that moment I knew.
I knew what I belonged to.
I knew that my call in life was to sing.
She says this today, 18 years later.
After to entries in the Swedish Melody Grand Prix (fourth place in 2000 and sixth place in 2002) and a long-play album, she has come a bit on the way.
A bit on the way to the stars.
Everyone is born with a gift in life, everyone is born to do something.
My gift is my voice.
Its a force, which can make people laugh - or cry.Its on stage where Javiera feels at her best.
Not in the tour bus, not during the daily singing technique practice and not in the studio.
- I communicate emotions with my music.
And I sooth emotions.
And when I have that sensation I feel so good I could die.
It sound like a clich?, but this girl is for real.Music is her life.
