Dear you,
I am Janice Todds, 20 years old and I live in Belgium.
I was born at Kinshasa (Congo) on april 5th 1987.
I was born too early so I was very lean.
No one ever thought that I would make it.
But...
a lovely family took the decission to adopt me.
LUCKY ME !!
I grew up near Brussels, my parents divorced when I was 4.
I lived with my mother who took very good care of me.
From a very young age I was interested in music.
As a little girl, I always listened to a piece of music before I went to bed.
And after a few days I could sing what I have heard.
My mother noticed it, so at the age of 7 I was part of a choir.
We did a lot of performances.
And Ive even sung the solo at our last performance.
I was only 9years old.
In the meanwhile I have started music lessons.
And at the age of 10 we could choose which instrument we wanted to play.
I have chosen piano, which I have played for 7-8years.
Since music was my life, I wanted to study it at a higher level.
So, I went to an artschool (Lemmensinstitute), did an entrance exam and succeeded.
I learned a lot, made a lot of friends,...
But it wasnt what I expected, so I left...
Sad and discouraged I went to a normal school and studied Economics.
But I didnt like it.
After that horrible year, I have decided to do the things that I love to do.
So I searched for a new artschool, which I have found at Brussels and passed again for the entrance exam.
I didnt study music but theatre.
Had 2 wonderful years there, met a lot of talented people, ...
As you can see, Ive found my way to the stage very fast.
I also write my own lyrics.
Its an opportunity to say what I was never able to say before.
The kind of music Id like to bring is a mix of pop - soul/r&b/blues - rock.
