Lava - born April 18th 1980 in Henderson hospital on concession street in Hamilton Ontario.
Born 2nd in a family of eight children, to a mother who was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; but raised in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago.
His father was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica.
Lava was brought up in a tight family environment of forty five blood cousins, therefore he values his family above all aspects of life.
He began spitting freestyles as a younging and gradually progressed to the art of writing.
He first picked up a pen and pad at the ripe age of 11, writing a song about his mother.
His mother remarkably still has the old song in a safe keep box! What started as a hobby, slowly turned into an escape from what was going on in his home life.
Writing music seemed to healed the pain and releaved the stress, but never fix the problem.
His dad left when he was four so he was raised entirely by his mother.
He moved from place to place to place across Hamilton but met a lot of people in the process.
By the time he was sixteen, he was importing and exporting firearms in and out of Toronto and the greater Hamilton area.
Thankfully that only lasted two years and he stayed alive during the process.
Not only a firearms dealer, he was also your local drug chef.
To make things worst, he was no stranger to handcuffs and metal bars! Because of his experiences and his grimey flow ( compared to the likes of jadakiss / nas / styles p ), it?s no wonder why people embrace his grimey - gutter, yet poetic lyrics.
To date lava has seven albums completed, from solo tracks, to feature tracks, to compilations, to mix tapes! He has recorded and performed with the best of the best (artists, producers, engineers) in the steel city and it?s surrounding areas.
Well know in his town for being the veteran of the street / hip ? hop craze and more than willing to give another artist a chance in an opportunity if they are hungry enough, his impressive drive for perfection is no joke.
A high school graduate who took two years off after graduation to drop out of university and go to college and study electrocardiography all to throw it away one day because of his god given talent music which he knows is his destiny and is hunting it down like a cheetah chasing a gazelle.
Still living in steel city, but in a much nicer location, lava?s ultimate goal is to prove you can make it; no matter what black hole you crawled out of if you work hard enough.
Now a serious ecg technician and music orientated man, lava has become more humble yet he still seeks anger management for his occasional angry outburst.
Lava left Indi Feenz to go solo and has been doing well since the departure.
Although he currently has no kids, he plans to in the near future.
