Hello there.
I was born on June 30, 1985 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Michael and Robin Elkins.
My father was in the navy at the time.
We lived there for two months before moving to Connecticut.
At the age of 2 my parents separated.
That was when my paternal grandparents got temporary custody of me.
I grew up in a house with my grandparents and 3 aunts who were known to me as my sisters as I grew up.
When I was 4, my younger brother, Tysiar was born on September 1, 1989 to my mother and step-father.
When I was 6, their divorce was final and then both pretty much immediately re-married.
My father married a woman by the name of Christine.
My mother married a man by the name of Tysear.
When I was 8, my mom and step-father had another son, Christopher born on August 30, 1993.
When I was 10, my father and step-mother had a son by the name of Brian, born on December 12, 1995.
My mother and step-father had their last son, Thomas, on December 30, 1996.
On July 28, 1997, my grandparents adopted me.
My father and step-mother had their last son, Adam, on April 28, 1999.
In June of 1999, I moved in with my father and his family to live.
In 2003, I moved out of my fathers house.
I began a life of my own and got married on April 1, 2005.
Today I ask myself who I am in life.
The type of person I am.
I believe myself to be and kind-hearted person.
I am not your typical 20 year old girl.
I know what I want in life and I strive for it.
Im wound up and always have a lot going on.
Many people have trouble understanding me.
However, most people find me to be a very intense person and that is also generally why they are so drawn to me.
This happens, more often than not, without any effort on my part.
Compared to others who are also intense people, I am responsive to stressful situations.
I dont mind being alone, but I feel most energized and inspired when I am around other people, primarily those who I feel some kind of connection with.
There is more of an effect on me when I listen, rather than read.
On a daily basis, I like to think about how I see life.
What does life mean to me? Life to me is a beautiful thing that should not be taken for granted.
Life is here now, but you must expect the unexpected for tomorrow.
There are no guarantees on the following moments.
You must live your life the way you want to live it in order to get what you want out of life.
You cant just sit around and wait for everything to be handed to you on a silver platter because it wont happen.
I didnt sit around and wait for the opportunity to model to come my way.
I worked for it.
How I look now is definitely not how I had expected myself to look.
However, I worked at it.
Beauty comes from within.
My inner beauty and my strive to be beautiful and successful in whatever my future goals were to be.
I worked at it.
As I began seeing change in my appearance, I remembered always saying as a little girl how I wanted to be a model.
Well, thats every little girls dream.
I decided I was going to work and live for my dream.
How did my career in modeling begin? Well, I started off by doing a search on modeling and came across a site called www.exploretalent.com .
I signed up and paid for it.
At that time I didnt know there were free sites.
Well, I then came across a guy my age, by the name of Steve who lived the next town over from me and it had his AIM screen name.
So, I imed him and he introduced me to all sorts of free sites such as www.onemodelplace.com and many more.
I ended up canceling my Explore Talent account and stuck with the free sites.
I kept in contact with Steve and we even met and dated for a little while.
I started working with lost of different photographers to get some images up.
Thats been my life.
Shoot after shoot after shoot.
Steve and I even did a shoot together.
I got in contact with some really awesome photographers among other people in the industry that have helped me through this and given me advice all along.
I new what I wanted to do and I was going to do what I could to get there.
Ive learned a lot through this.
Ive come to realize that some people need to be analyzed in this industry for my safety as I have had a few fallouts with different companies in this industry.
However, my bad experiences have not held me down or made me turn away from my dream.
This is my dream and Im going to live it.
Ive had the support of those around me and there are so many people I could thank for just being there for me through the good and the bad.
I would like to thank all of the photographers I have had the pleasure of working with, those who have given me the bad experiences to learn from, my family and friends, and most of all, my husband.
My husband, Jerimy, is the reason why I have not given up.
He has kept me going and helped me in all that I do.
He supports my career fully.
When I look upon my future in modeling, I am realistic about my goals.
I know that the time is now.
I will only be young and beautiful for so long.
Once that goes, my modeling goes.
That is, unless, somehow I become the next Paris Hilton, which is highly unlikely.
I am not seeking fame in all of this; however, I would not turn down the opportunity if it arose.
I am just doing what I enjoy doing.
I would like to be successful in doing this.
I would like to continue to get good images and continue to book the work I am open for.
When my time comes to give up modeling for other things, I will be happy to say I lived my dream to the fullest extent I found possible.
What are my goals for my future after modeling? Well, I plan on going to school for web design so I can eventually get my degree and pursue a career in where my second interest is.
I find web design to be very interesting.
So, once modeling is over for me, my next step in life will be web design.
