A Thousand Challenges

Rating : 0.0/5 (0 votes)

Band,
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania United States

If you’re looking at this page wondering why there’s no shows listed, you’re probably very new to A Thousand Challenges and I’d like to thank you for checking out the page.
Now if you’re looking at it and wondering where the hell Lando is, I’ve got no idea.
If you see him, tell him we all said hello!

A Thousand Challenges was formed sometime in the late spring of 2001.
The original members were Andrew Dampf, Andrew Sanderbeck, Kevin Kenny and Ed Vassalo.
That lineup only played one show together, the clip “Charles In Charge was recorded at that show.
When Ed left for Penn State in August, Fred Weber filled in giving the band the lineup most are familiar with.

After a string of show with The Silent Type, work on the first album began.
Several freezing mornings in a garage and late nights in “The House would follow.
On March 7th, 2002 A Thousand Challenges released Boardwalk Nights.
We recorded "End Of The Road" a few months after that.
We'll probably post that sometime in the future here.
Also I think Kevin may have a live recording of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" somewhere in his stack of videos.
If we find that I'd be very excited as many of our longtime fans have yet to hear that song and it's one we were very proud of.

A Thousand Challenges went from Lando’s garage to the Owl Cove at Temple.
From a barn in Quarryville PA, to a huge stage at Lafayette University.
From a bar in Glenside, to a bar on South Street.

After 2 years of making music and friends, the members of A Thousand Challenges parted ways in July of 2003.
This page is here for all the fans that still enjoy the sound.
We really appreciate it.
That's why most of the songs here are unreleased tracks.
Thanks for your support through the years.
Maybe we’ll see you again sometime, who knows.
We just need to find Lando first.
