My name is Alain Mayrand.
I am a composer following in the steps of Bach, Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Ravel.
My music is about balance.
-It is lyrical yet freely chromatic.
-Distinctly modern yet easily understood just by listening.
-Fun yet serious.
-Highly organized while feeling spontaneous.
In other words, I aim to write new music that feels like the old.
I feel that after 13 years of intense, non-stop study I am finally ready to do just that.
(Oh, and I have also written 18 film scores.)
