Longtime filmmaker Bob Sarles has produced, directed and edited programs that have appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, HBO, Showtime, The WB Network, Discovery Channel, Disney Channel, Travel Channel, MTV, and VH1.Films directed and edited by Bob Sarles are on permanent display in major museums across the country, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sarles has directed music videos, concert films and promotional materials for Columbia Records, Blind Pig Records, Acoustic Disc, Sony Entertainmebnt, Industrial Light & Magic, and Pixar Studios.He has worked as director and cinematographer documenting recording sessions with artists including Carlos Santana, John Mayer, Steve Jordan, Jorma Kaukonen, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, David Grisman, Roy Rogers and Norton Buffalo. He was a producer and editor on the VH1 series Behind The Music, and for four seasons edited MTV's The Real World.Sarles has produced and directed and edited critically acclaimed music documentaries and concert films that have been distributed on DVD worldwide by Eagle Rock Entertainment, and Image Entertainment.Bob Sarles edited the Peabody Award Winning mini-series Moon Shot for TBS, for which he shared a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He is co-editor of the MTV Award winning Music Video Legs for ZZ Top, and has edited videos for Green Day and other top rock, rap and country artists. Sarles has edited scores of television commercials, including award winning spots directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and James Cameron.Sarles edited independent feature documentary films for Herzog-Cowen Entertainment and Wandering Eye Productions. He has worked on the editorial staffs of over twenty feature films as an editor, sound editor, and assistant editor.Bob was part of the support editorial staffs of Phil Kaufman's Academy Award winning movie The Right Stuff, Frank Oz's Dirty Rotten Scoudrels, and and Herbert Ross's My Blue Heaven.Sarles has edited documentary web content for clients including Sony Pictures and Levis.Since 1995 he has produced and edited tribute films for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for artists including Janis Joplin, Buffalo Springfield, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, Crosby Stills & Nash, Miles Davis, The O'Jays, Buddy Guy, Traffic, Pete Seeger, The Ronettes, The Shirells, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.Together with his longtime partner, Christina Keating, Sarles runs Ravin' Films, the San Francisco based film and television production company he founded.
